Outreach | Love Topeka Big Serve Day

Love Topeka Big Serve Day is an opportunity for our church family to spend a morning loving and serving our neighbors across Topeka in practical ways. Come on your own, with your family, Community Group, or ministry team. We’ll begin together at Fellowship with breakfast, prayer, and a short devotional before serving through a variety of projects with local community partners.

We will begin together in Fellowship Hall at Fellowship Bible Church.

Schedule:

8:00–8:20 AM: Breakfast and conversation
8:20–8:40 AM: Devotional, prayer, and commissioning
8:40–9:00 AM: Teams launch and travel to serving locations
Around 9:00–11:00 AM: Serving projects, depending on the project
Serving opportunities will include:

TRM: Welcome Bags & Encouragement Cards | Family-Friendly

• Assemble Welcome Bags for children staying at Topeka Rescue Mission and write encouragement cards for Hope Center guests.

KVC Kansas: Care Support Kit Assembly

• Assemble care support materials used by KVC staff as they serve children and families.

KVC Kansas: Lobby Improvement Project

• Help refresh an indoor space by removing mulch, cleaning the area, and creating a more comfortable workspace for KVC caseworkers.

TRM: Food Serving

• Serve alongside Topeka Rescue Mission staff to help prepare and serve brunch to shelter guests.

Lifeline: Facility Improvement Project

• Help with practical facility projects such as weeding, painting, installing baseboard, washing exterior windows and doors, and assembling furniture.

There are options for families, hands-on volunteers, and those looking for a simple indoor serving opportunity. No special experience is needed for projects.
