Love Topeka is the umbrella name for a variety of initiatives to love our neighbors in Topeka. Our strategy is to partner with local organizations and to discover, develop, and deploy our own leaders who have a conviction and passion to love and bless our City for the glory of Jesus Christ.
This month’s Initiative Opportunities are:
- Foster Village:
- Childcare – You will help care for children so that their parent/foster parent can enjoy time with their local support group for foster moms.
- Foster Village Childcare | Kinship Support Group -You will help provide childcare so kinship caregivers can connect and learn during the Foster Village Kinship Support Group.
- Carnival at The Bridge – Once again, we will be helping with The Bridge’s annual carnival. This is a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship, serve families in our community, and help make this a fun and welcoming evening.
- Topeka Rescue Mission:
- “Chosen” watch party team – Bring community and belonging to guests of the shelter by participating in a watch party of an episode of “the Chosen.”
- Serve food – Serve a meal to guests of the Rescue Mission homeless shelter.
- Harvesters/Pauline Central Food Pantry – (note the new location) Assisting with food distribution, organizing shelves, and maintaining inventory.
- Breadbasket Food Pantry – Assisting with food distribution, organizing shelves, and maintaining inventory
