How to give
- Pray for God's direction and trust God with any fears about giving.
- Give God your first and best... with expectation. Giving is an act of worship. God deserves our first and best rather than our last and leftovers. Know that God will take what you give Him and use it powerfully in the lives of people.
- God will guide you to give both generously and responsibly, and only according to your ability.
- Give a percentage of your income. God owns everything and has given us everything we have. Throughout the Bible, people were asked to give a percentage of all He gave them. Give according to what you’ve been given.
- Make tithing your long-term goal. A biblical goal for giving is the “tithe”, which is 10% of your total income. 10% is ideal, but start somewhere, give something, and give regularly. 10% is not the reality for everyone as they begin their giving journey.
- Commit to an amount. This chart will get you started. Select an amount that is generous, yet responsible, with your current circumstances in mind. Remember, if you cannot tithe right now, simply go to the second column and prayerfully determine the “best” amount for you. Later, as you are able, you can progress to higher amounts. Think of giving as an investment with a return on the amount you invest.
- Note: To tithe on higher income, simply add rows from the chart together. Or, divide your annual income by 10, and then divide that amount by 52 to get your weekly amount.
Although there are many options to give, we believe an ideal way to give is online with a weekly recurring gift. There is not a more convenient and consistent way for you to give. Giving this way honors the guidance from Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:2: “EVERY week, each of you is to put SOMETHING aside...”
Once set up, your gift will be automatically sent from your account each week or on a frequency you select. This is much simpler and easier than writing a check each week and it faithfully builds generosity in you.
Go HERE to sign up. It's simple and quick. You'll need just three things: 1) Your amount. 2) Your frequency, i.e. weekly. 3) The account number and ACH number found on one of your checks.
God loves a cheerful giver! – 2 Corinthians 9:7
Once you set up recurring giving, take time to thank God and worship him for using you in His work. Celebrate with your church how God is using us in our city and the world to advance His kingdom by making disciples of Jesus Christ. And know that being a generous giver is very appreciated by those who work so hard in ministry at Fellowship.

Stories of generosity
Boopesh Vijayakumar
Psalm 34: 8 says, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good." Ten years ago we were giving only occasionally. Four years ago God spoke to us in our small group study when Jumon's family shared their story of commitment to the church and community through giving. We were inspired and made a commitment to give no matter whatever the situation is. We also believed in Malachi 3:10. We tested the Lord to increase our faith in giving. We started seeing bountiful blessings in our lives just in few months after the commitment. My empty hands were blessed with a new job. Previous to this, I could not work in United States because of my Visa Status. All the roadblocks were cleared in Jesus Name. This was just the beginning.
One day we heard Frank Eschmann shared the good news of how Fellowship Bible Church paid for unpaid medical bills for the people in the community during COVID. That broke our hearts. Our commitment grew stronger and turned from just giving to generous giving. Our measure increased. (Mathew 7:2). Our hearts transformed to find every opportunity to give through ALL our resources. My wife Hema has a spiritual gift "Faith of Unseen.” She gives the seed of faith to other women in her women's group/workplace. My daughter Mridula says she wants to give back the true joy that she received in Jesus Christ to children in 2nd grade in the Mountain program.

I give to the Lord at Fellowship out of love, thankfulness, and worship to the Lord. I am so grateful for all of the people God has placed in my life for over 11 years at Fellowship to encourage, equip, and care for me and my family. God has opened up so many doors to be able to be a part of his kingdom work through ministries here at the church.
My life is full of abundant joy and thankfulness as I reflect on all he has given through community groups, living water mission trips to El Salvador and Haiti, women's Bible study groups, women's ministry retreats, serving meals at the Topeka Rescue Mission, Sharefest, Doxazo ministries, Hi-crest ministries, Perspectives classes, missionary care teams, welcoming teams for international students, lunch buddies, and greeting/ hospitality teams. Through all of these ministries, God has given me precious relationships with people to be loved and encouraged and better equipped to go out into the world to reflect the love and truth of Jesus to others.
Our family prays for our hearts to give like a person in the crowd in Mark 6:37-18 who gave all that he had (5 loaves of bread and 2 fish) to Jesus. Jesus blessed it and served over 5000 people. Our talents should not be buried but multiplied. (Mathew 25:14-30). May our little giving be a blessing to others.

We give for many reasons. The main one being we are asked by God to do it. We have learned from experience that you can’t out-give God. It also brings us great joy to do it.
