Welcome to Fellowship Students!  We are a ministry for 6-12 graders and it's our desire to help students find and follow Jesus Christ.

Student Ministry

Our ministry for middle and high school students is called Surge. A surge is "a sudden powerful movement", and our vision is that our ministry will not simply be a fun place to come every week, but that it will spur a powerful movement that spreads through Topeka and the surrounding areas.

We don't believe this generation is the future of the church, but rather that they are the church today and that God is calling them to make a difference in the world for Him right now.

Surge

We meet every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm. Our time includes fellowship, worship, teaching from God's Word, and community groups.

Fall Retreat: Usually falling in November, our Fall Retreat is a weekend retreat designed to help students reflect and dive deeper into their faith and the ways it connects to their everyday lives. Of course, it wouldn’t be a retreat if we didn’t also have a ton of fun planned! There will be plenty of wild games, outdoor activities, and exciting music and teaching. We don’t want any middle or high school student to miss this weekend away with their community group! 

Junior/Senior Retreat: Rotating between Branson and Colorado, our weekend retreat for upperclassmen is designed to prepare them for life after high school. We want to launch them into the world better prepared to stay connected to family and community - but most importantly to Jesus.  

Retreats

We have two annual retreats: a fall retreat for all students and a winter retreat specifically for juniors and seniors to help prepare them for their next step.

  • MSMXP - Middle School Mission XP is a local mission experience for 7-9th graders. This event is an opportunity for students to serve our city with their friends in a variety of ways. Our hope is that as each student serves, they will experience more of the heart of Jesus and the ways we can tangibly love our neighbors. Not only that, we know a thing or two about how to have fun, so you can expect some fun activities to be planned!
  • Camp Barnabas - Each summer, Fellowship Students takes a group to Camp Barnabas for a week-long opportunity to show others the love of Christ through serving and loving individuals with special needs and chronic illnesses. This trip is for students who are 13 or older, as well as Surge leaders and parents.
  • Belize - Belize is our international missions opportunity. This is a great introductory trip to foreign missions. We serve by doing VBS for the children during the day and teen ministry in the evening.

Missions

We believe the biggest life transformation happens when students engage in mission trips. From local partnerships in Topeka to global partners as far as Belize, we provide opportunities for students of all ages to get involved.

Summer Camp is a week-long camp for students going into grades 7th-12th. We take a couple hundred students and leaders to Rock Spring Retreat Center in Junction City, KS for a week of deep community and growing in our walks with Christ. Join us this summer, the week of August 1-5! Sign up HERE.

We also have a lot of free time every day for students to enjoy the pool, horseback riding, archery, skeet shooting, high ropes course, mountain biking and all kinds of sports and activities. There are also friendly competitions throughout the week between grades.

We carve out time each day for students to "Be With" God on their own; to read their Bibles, pray, journal, etc. We have incredible worship and teaching each morning and evening. We believe this week of camp can truly be a life-changing experience, and we would love for every middle and high school student to come and experience the best week of their summer!

Summer Camp

Join us for our biggest event of the year.  Spend time in community while growing deeper in your relationship with God.  This event is for all rising 7-12 graders.

BECOME A COMMUNITY GROUP LEADER
Do you have a passion for building relationships with students and walking alongside them in their faith? We would love for you to be a part of our Surge leader team! Our community group leaders are the primary relational connection for our students at Surge. As a leader, you will shepherd and disciple the students in your group, modeling a faith in Christ and sharing life with them. We would love to help you get connected in our ministry!

WEEKENDS
At Fellowship, the weekend services have been a time that we desire for students to worship with their families and serve within the church. We do this to give students a picture of the importance of being a part of the larger church and not just our student ministry. We also want to take the opportunity to develop giftings and passions to serve the body of Christ.
